Asli Öszoy-Körner and Peter Körner

Peter Körner, 1974 born in Warendorf, Germany, started trombone playing at the age of 16.
1992 under the tutelage of Oliver Siefert - Frankfurt RSO, he started his studies in Weimar and Munich.Prof. Armin Bachmann and Prof. Wolfram Arndt and their respective schools have deeply imprinted him.  
Teachers like Branimir Slokar from Freiburg, Michael Mulcahy from Chicago and Tobias Füller from Düsseldorf have impacted their different styles into his playing.  
2002- 2015 Music Faculty of Bilkent University and co-principal trombone of the Bilkent Symphony Orchestra, Ankara, Turkey. 2016 Peter received the position as Assoc. Prof. Dr. at the State Conservatory of the Uludag University in Bursa. His wife, Aslı Ötzoy-Körner, former concertmaster of the State Opera in Ankara, took the same position for violin.He is instructing students at the university as well as at a special conservatory for prep students.Beside developing new trombone technology and mouthpieces with Thein Brass Instruments, Peter is also engaged in writing articles and books.  His works include his medical thesis on breathing techniques, as well as a book, with Heinrich Thein as co-wrighter, entitled “World of Alto Trombone”, published 2015 by Martin Schmid.In addition to Alto- and Tenor trombones,
Peter is actively performing Euphonium and Basstrumpet with different orchestras.  
He performs chamber music with the Brass Quintett “Brassmania”, the “Orient Express Trio”, as well as solo working, like ”One Night in the Opera”.

 

Associate Prof. Dr. Asli Özsoy-Körner started Violin with her father Ilhan Özsoy, concertmaster Ankara State Opera and member Bayreuth Festival Orchestra. At the age of 11 she start study at the Ankara Conservatory and then continued her studies via a DAAD scholarship in Detmold with Prof. Eckhart Fischer. She received her Doctor of Musical Arts from Bilkent University in Ankara. Asli starts 2000 as concertmaster of the Ankara State Oper. In addition to lively soloists and chambermusic activity she is since 2014 a member of the World Orchestra for Piece under the direction of Valery Gergiev. 2016 she was appointed Associate Professor at the Conservatory of the Uludag University of Bursa. She impart on her varied experiences to the Bachelor, Master and PhD students as well as to the youngest students of the affiliated specialty music middle school and the special music gymnasium.
